Managed seven (7) production SQL Server instances in-house and over 50 in-house development and testing instances for an online transactional marketing software company. Implemented multiple High-Availability solutions for the Production and UAT environments. Provided both production (60%) and development (40%) DBA support. Provided production-level support for deployed code installed remotely at client sites. Implemented a centralized performance monitoring methodology to provide in-depth analysis of existing production code, as well as development, QA and UAT environments. Performed root cause analysis for poorly performing code and implemented enhancements. Worked closely with client DBAs to resolve issues with deployed code, including, but not limited to, environmentally-specific enhancements (one-off code) for performance and monitoring. Developed and implemented reporting infrastructure for client reporting (converted from manual Excel-based reports to automated SSRS reporting). Technical duties included disaster recovery, backup/restore, migrations, replication (transactional and merge), resource monitoring and installations; with a heavy emphasis on query optimizations and performance improvements. Served as a technical reference for the development team concerning best practices. Implemented an enterprise-wide automation environment to minimize the complexity of daily tasks and free additional resources. Provided on-call support, as needed. Development-related tasks included bug-fixes (patches), stored procedures, one-off scripts, integration development, new features and regular code maintenance. Initiated database code reviews for the development department. Oversight of production bug-tracking, project management and client relationships.
