Managed over 200 SQL Server and Oracle instances (80% Microsoft) for a global software corporate IT environment. Monitoring of databases, working to maximize availability and tune data performance as needed. Perform troubleshooting (root cause analysis), document source of problems and their resolution. Monitor baselines and server trends to anticipate issues. Administration duties also include, but not limited to backup, restore, disaster recovery, replication (transactional and merge) and query optimizations. Operating system administration, including patches, critical updates and service packs. Provide both production (70%) and development (30%) DBA support. Designed and configured high availability environments for Oracle (RAC) as well as SQL Server (MS clustering). Maintain instance inventory; Developed security audit framework to meet SOX compliance. Developed reporting interface for upper management security auditing, as well. Instrumental in design and implementation of environment migrations between data centers. Develop, configure and monitor complex ETL processes utilizing SSIS/PowerShell/VBScript. Responsible for data mapping and conversion, environmental resources and change control. On-call support, as needed. Other tasks as requested.
